Why does tidus disappear

The ending cinematic shows Yuna sending off Auron, each of her aeons, and Sin to the Farplane. Tidus makes a heartfelt goodbye before disappearing into the Farplane to join the spirits of Auron, Braska, and Jecht.

Because Tidus and Jecht had been manifested by the fayth, they are able to be sent to the Farplane like Yuna's aeons. Finally, after the end credits, Tidus is shown waking in water, emerging with a big smile. The purposeful ambiguity of his destiny continues into Final Fantasy X-2 , where depending on the player's choices, multiple endings can be discovered.

The most ideal one results with Tidus and Yuna being reunited, as Tidus speculates the fayth may have gathered up his thoughts to bring him back, and he and Yuna can stay together if they promise to cherish one another. The ending of Final Fantasy X is meant to be interpreted in different ways, but hopefully this clears up some confusion.

It's physically located in Spira. I believe the Ultimania says its near Baaj temple. Jecht ran into Sin while training in the ocean. Auron is from Spira. He went to Dream Zanarkand to look out for Tidus on the request of Jecht. He rode Sin to Zanarkand. Jecht was the new Sin at this point, so I'm guessing he still had some control over himself.

The fayth of the final aeon is created from a guardian that the summoner has a strong connection with. If their bond is strong enough, the aeon is strong enough to defeat Sin. The people of Spira believe that if they follow the teachings of Yevon Sin will one day disappear for good. In reality, Yu Yevon possesses the final aeon and makes it into the next Sin.

I don't think it was ever explained how exactly the summoner dies, I'm guessing either Yu Yevon makes the possessed aeon kill them or the process of the possession severing their bond does it. Yuna sends them. After Yu Yevon is killed, the summoning of Dream Zanarkand stops. Tidus didn't tell anyone, but Yuna does seem suspicious that something is up in some scenes before the final dungeon. Seymour seemed to know Auron was unsent.

Not sure. Making it quick I guess. I assumed they were on the farplane. Yuna's whistling is a callback to a scene in Luca where Tidus tells her to whistle if they ever get separated, and he'll come find her.
