How can charizard beat blastoise

It is important to note that this is not the only factor in choosing the optimal Pokemon to defeat Blastoise. If you have a Pokemon with much higher CP and a high damage Moveset vs. Blastoise you will obviously want to use that Pokemon. You will be able to win the battle quickly before your opponent has even had a chance to deal much damage. However, if you are using a Pokemon with average CP and an average moveset, choosing the right Type of Pokemon becomes much more important.

Getting back to the offensive side of battling, the next step is to identify which Pokemon have the capability of using Super Effective Moves against Blastoise. Furthermore, we must identify Pokemon that are the same Type as the Moves they are using. Under ideal circumstances, Solar Power Specs Charizard in play with Sunlight already in effect and the Blastoise not switching out But, it would be so easy to throw a wrench into that plan and screw Charizard up.

Stealth Rock would bring him down by half, and the Sunlight would take more. On top of that, if he's switching in on a damaging attack, he's going to be hard pressed to survive that round. Assuming he does, simply switch into something that resists Grass and let the Sunlight finish off Charizard.

In the event that he switches out, you can rest easy, because short of Stealth Rock being spun away, he's gone if he comes back in. If you're worried about getting hit with ThunderPunch, just switch to something that resists both Grass and Electric, which is generally Grass-types or Dragon-types. Personally, I'd go with a Dragon-type since going with a Grass-type like Ferrothorn would mean that the off-chance when he used Flamethrower wouldn't completely waste a member of your team.

Best bet at this point would probably be a Multiscale Dragonite, provided you're allowing it.
