The Health benefits and GI Bill are great. So is the consistent pay. Left with anger issues and stress anxiety issues. But kept some good memories, life long friends, and a good stepping stone for civilian life.

It's simple. They train you and you get paid to be a soldier. Some MOS are harder than others in different aspects, especially if you enlist in combat arms.
Know what you are signing up for before you enlist. You wake up super early and get some PT done and then head into work and take care of the things that need to be done. Most of the time you will enjoy working with everyone and it has great benefits.
There are some good people there. Gets your foot in life. Good opportunity for someone who wants to see how they react to high stress environment and fast tempo everything else will seem much easier. As long as you have great leadership who actually cares about their soldiers then you should be fine. Some of the best things I got out of being in the Army: 1. Some of the things I hated being in the Army: 1. Cleaning 2. Random inspections 3. Mass punishment 4. Lack of sleep due to poor planning from leadership. The Army is a great place for people that are service oriented and strive in high stress environments. I served in a combat arms job and I loved every minute of it. The bond you make with your fellow soldiers will last a life time.
I have yet been able to find a place that gives me the same satisfaction I received working for the Army. The Army cultivates critical thinkers and leadership. It is up to the individual to determine how far they will go in the military. Hard work pays off in the military. The military can be hard on families as the pay is not the greatest when you fist start out if you are enlisted.

Toxic leadership is rampant, both the funding and culture alters with each administration change. That being said, I recommend enlisting to literally anyone who is considering it. It gives you the priceless skill of learning how to work on a team where half of them are morons including the leaders.
When you finally get out every workplace looks efficient, something that would not happen if you never took the dive into the deep end. Free college is of paramount importance, and really helps when looking for a career after school when the majority of your competition is young and has menial experience.
