What is the difference between the dailey method and pure barre

Love the idea of gifting them! What a great review of both methods! I've actually never taken a bar class because the closest is 45 minutes away, but now I really want to give it a try!

Thank you for your reviews!! I will have to try a barre class some day. I hope that you are having a great day so far!! I LOVE barre workouts!

There is only Barre3 where I live and I am dying to try both of these. I really love when they know your name and make it personal, and good tunes make it or break it in my opinion! Maybe I should do it once and then start doing it online or something.. I have been wanting to try out any type of barre workout. Maybe after baby is here that will be my motivation to get fit!

This is a great comparision!! Great review! I want to get back into it. I didn't love the studio near me unfortunately. It was a weird, clicky vibe. Wish there was more near me. I have heard so much about barre workouts and would love to try them someday, maybe when the budget is a little more free! I did ballet as a kid and loved it so I imagine this would kind of take me back to that in some ways! Thanks for sharing!

There is nowhere near me that offers this and I think I would love it! I grew up taking ballet so I just feel like it would be right up my alley! Thanks so much for posting this, Biana!

I have been considering giving these a try, but I had no idea which one. Such a great and informative post!! Maybe I'll try it one day.. Looks like a great toning workout! Thank you for this post. It's so informative and honest. I have been wanting to try PB for awhile now.

Thanks for sharing your experience with both, it will definitely help my decision! I think I would die in this class… I'm so not flexible. I wouldn't get in half the poses. This is really interesting.

I love how you really broke it down in detail about each method. I think I would agree with you on the Bar Method. I'm all about more bang for my buck. I should tell my other mommy friends abut this. This would be fun to do together plus I would need the motivation! I'm sooo intimidated by these classes, but Amanda, and now you, help ease the fear a bit ha.

The results speak for themselves, I'll say that! I would love to try either method though the BM seems more my style. I will have to look to see if there is one closer to me, I know the PB ones were too far to just pop in for a class. I love that you gave us real info! I have been nervous to try either, as I didn't want to spend the money without knowing anything about either! I have only gone to Xtend, but I love it.

And your review is spot on. Deidre Emme. Such an informative post, thank you!!! I have yet to try either, because of our current personal training schedule and the nearest being min away, I just can't fit one in. But I would like to try one eventually! What a great breakdown. This is a great breakdown! I've been taking barre classes with FlyBarre at Flywheel Sports because I decided to take their six week challenge and because I spin with Flywheel.

However when my challenge is up I've been thinking about checking out Pure Barre and a few of the other options in Charlotte just to see what's out there. Oh and I totally hear you on the coat part, it's pretty brutal! I'm so glad you did this! I'm not a push up person at all, so PB sounds like it appeals to me a little bit more. This was awesome, thank you! This was a great review! I've been wanting to try a barre class so bad but my husband would divorce me if I signed up for a month.

It prepared me for a tough year ahead that I did not know was coming. A year ago, my family went through some devastating times. It was serious, but thankfully, we are in a much better place and I am hopeful. The only thing I could get myself to do aside from the day-to-day was go to TDM. It kept me from falling apart and I was able to work out an incredible amount of anger in thigh work. I always tell my kids that its important to be kind because we never know what someone else might be going through.

TDM has been kind to me. I love the instructors, the other clients, and the warm and encouraging atmosphere. I love the Dailey Method. It keeps me strong, and limber, helps me keep a healthy back and healthy joints. The teachers are amazingly knowledgeable. I can see strong models of aging beautifully and aging strong that make me feel very hopeful about my own future. I found out about the Dailey Method early in as I was looking for a new exercise program — I tried a class and loved it from day 1.

The instructors are upbeat, encouraging, positive and inspiring. Thank you Dailey Method Vancouver! Have a question? Also, the instructors offered suggestions to make the moves easier or more difficult, so should you choose to work yourself harder you can.

While the classes were very comparable in difficulty, I will say I found the abs portion in Pure Barre to be harder. What Do I Wear? Fitted clothes — either yoga pants or leggings, cropped or full length — and a tank or tee. I would avoid baggy stuff since these classes are both about your body and getting the movements just right.

The important thing is the socks — both classes sell their own rubberized socks, which are very helpful and prevent sliding on the carpet. You can wear regular socks but the rubberized ones do make a difference.

How Much Does it Cost? Where Can I Take a Class? Both websites have a handy way to find the studio closest to you. Hopefully you took full advantage of it! If I had gotten one, I'd try to go every day. Congrats on signing up for a month unlimited, too - you must be so excited to get started!

Congrats again on your Grand Rapids marathon PR!!! It was the beginning of marathon training so I still had to run. I think I went 3 times one week and 2 times the next week. Going more than 3 times a week is hard for me. My goal when I go for the month is to try to get 3 times a week in. Three times a week is plenty! When I first got underway with ClassPass, I had very high aspirations of attending five days a week.

After my first class, I was reminded how tough the workouts are! It definitely takes some time to get the body acclimated to them! I've neverr done barre, but I'm planning to get a crash course on how to incorporate similar moves in my classes next month. I can't wait!

Natalie, I think you would love barre! The exercises look so simple, but they are so challenging and so effective. I can't wait to hear what you think! Super interesting!
