When do minions spawn lol

Courtesy of League of Legends Wiki. So why are we talking about minions? Why does their gold value and experience matter? I can get those from killing the enemy champion. The first kill on an enemy champion gives you a flat gold and an extra if it is First Blood. From then on, if you keep killing the same champion over and over again, the gold value they give you actually decreases. It goes down from to gold at the lowest.

I am not saying do not kill your opponent over and over again. That allows you to have a numbers advantage and do what you like on the map.

I am saying do not rely on killing champions as your source of income as their gold value drops. It is true that you also get experience from killing enemy champions, but it is not as much as you think.

For solo killing an enemy champion, you get 42 - experience based on the enemy champion's level. If teammates assist in these kills, you will all split the experience evenly. Basically, killing the same enemy champion over and over again gives you less gold and less experience over time. League of Legends is a volatile game. One game you might be carrying the team with the most kills and one game you might be getting killed the most.

If you have died once or twice in a losing match up the enemy player will very often set up a freeze and deny you gold from your minions. To break a freeze you have to shove the wave all the way into the enemy turret. Try to do it right before the next enemy wave arrives to bounce the wave back to you and deny him an opportunity to freeze again. If you are unable to break the freeze because you have no long range abilities you might have to call your jungler for help. You can quickly shove in 2v1 and free you from this awkward position.

The other neat trick to make the enemy break the freeze himself is denying vision in the river and going into the fog of war. Enemy might think you are roaming or recalled and push the wave back to you. Sometimes you might be in a position where either is not possible… In this sort of scenario, you will have to concede the gold and stay in EXP range to get anything from the dying minions.

If an opportunity presents itself you can try getting a nearby jungle camp or roam to a nearby lane. Slow pushing is an imbalance of lane for one of the teams. Keep in mind the imbalance can be expressed in more forms than just a minion advantage.

The wave that is slow pushing will slowly ramp up in size until it crashes at the turret. The difference between slow pushing and pushing is that a pushing wave will hit the turret within the next 30 seconds, slow pushing wave will take at least more than 1 wave of time to hit the turret.

Slow pushing is a risky strategy because it puts you at risk of a gank from the enemy jungler. The easiest way to achieve it is by bouncing the wave. Bouncing the wave — is pushing your wave into the turret in time for the enemy wave to hit it at least a bit. This breaks the even distribution of damage and will make the enemy wave focus only one minion of your wave thus setting up a slow push.

Breaking the wave — Minions attempt to spread out aggro among many minions to prevent random pushes from occurring due to random targeting. You break this mechanic by getting targeted by the minions before they approach your wave. This will focus the damage of enemy minions thus pushing the wave. Lane is even when there is the same amount of minions on both sides and a wave is at the middle of the lane.

This state is very rare and eventually, the wave will push one way or the other. The lane is defined as pushing if it crashes into the turret within the next 30 seconds before the next wave arrives. Usually, you push the wave if you want to deny minions from the enemy laner or force him into a lose-lose situation by shoving and then roaming. The most common reason to push is that you want to recall to the base.

The best moment to do so is on the wave before cannon wave. It will be significantly harder for the enemy to push the next wave against you because cannon minion is very tanky and even if he manages to push it in very fast you will be able to get at least minions after you come back. The other good moment to push is when you have just gotten a kill and want to reset to buy items.

Make sure to push in a way that bounces the wave back to you so the enemy wave slow pushes to you. This way an enemy will lose minions and ensure you get a decent amount of minions to farm when you come back and allows you to set up a freeze if you want to. Sometimes, most often on mid, you want to deny laning phase from your lane altogether. You can push in the wave fast and hide into the fog of war to simulate roaming and make enemy lanes play safe.

This strategy is most effective versus low wave clear champions or the ones that have a hard time farming under the turret. League of Legends is a very situational game with a lot of different matchups. Every game feels a little bit different. Therefore you be flexible and adapt to new situations. In general we can distinguish three types of match ups:.

If your champion has an advantage what do you want to do? You want to trade and kill your opponent. You will also have bonus damage from the minion advantage. The other way to force favorable trades is by freezing a wave in front of your turret. This way you can deny CS and force bad trades on your opponent.

Freezing is exceptionally good if your champion has a lot of dashes or key skill shots that have to hit for you to engage. A good example that has both is Yasuo, if you freeze your lane you can constantly threaten an all in by jumping through minions.

In losing match ups your main objective is not dying and not falling too far behind. For this to happen your lane has to be permanently frozen under your turret and you need to be relatively healthy.

Whenever possible try to bounce the wave before you reset to keep up freezing throughout the laning phase. Skill matchups are all about outplaying your opponent. Whenever possible you should wait for your enemy to use a key ability and then force a favorable trade. If you see your jungler nearby you can let the enemy push with 1 or 2 minions advantage. If you get ahead you can start playing the lane as if it was a winning match up. A while ago riot added a hidden mechanic to the game to allow losing teams to come back to the game.

You might have noticed that sometimes a wave will naturally push towards one side very consistently without input from players. Before you arrive there your minions will kill the enemy minions, because of the extra pushing power.

This is also the number one reason why you should not be running around the map without a target in mind. Overtime the enemy will get more and more resources because all waves are pushing into him hence the enemy team gets more farm and resources than your team.

You should use this priority to snowball your lead, take neutral objectives, and set up vision to win the game as fast as possible. Remember kills are the only a way of achieving the end goal not goal in itself this is not a deathmatch game.
